Thurlaston Parish Council are committed to supporting local organisations and groups whose work benefits some or all of the residents and as such welcome applications for Parish Council Grants.
The grants can be used in various ways, for example; the capital cost of new or improved facilities/equipment, supporting a specific event, improving the environment, etc; with grant applications accepted for between £50 - £500.
All applications for grants are considered by members of the Finance Sub Committee, with each application assessed on its own merits.
Once assessed, the Finance Sub Committee submit their advices with the grant application, to Full Council at the next scheduled Parish Council meeting.
Once a decision has been made it is final, with no further applications (if successful or appeals if unsuccessful), being made until 12 months have passed.
Grants will be considered on a first-come first-served basis, within the limits of the amount precepted (budgeted) for grants within the financial year.
Who is eligible?
Local individuals or groups (clubs, societies and organisations) based within Thurlaston Parish or whose work benefits as many residents as possible.
Those NOT eligible?
Grants will not be considered for the following purposes:
- Any organisation intending to support any political party
- Any profit or surplus making private, public and private limited companies.
- Any group whose fund raising is sent to a central HQ for redistribution or allocation of funds.
Additionally, the Parish Council will not consider making grants where it cannot be satisfied that all the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 have been met.
You will be required to provide:
- A written plan for your project and details of costs (and if applicable 2 quotations for the work)
- Where applicable, receipts for the completed works will be required.
The Parish Council may also require you to provide additional documentation in support of your application e.g.
- A recent bank statement
- A constitution (if applicable)
- Appropriate policies

If the money granted is not used for the works it was originally requested for, we reserve the right to recall it, and/or to ban the organisation from future applications.
