Following recent episodes within the Parish and concerns raised to the Parish Council, the local Police Sergeant attended the January Parish Council meeting and provided invaluable advices and recommendations for a safer community in which the residents of Thurlaston can, indeed, help themselves and create a safer environment.

Neighbourhood Watch

We've all heard of the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme but there is currently not one operational within Thurlaston.

All the resources and support required to set up a fully operational and recognised Scheme are available via the neighbourhood Watch website - should members of the community wish to progress this, please let the Parish Council know who will also offer support where possible.

Neighbourhood Link

This is also a scheme to improve communication directly from the Leicestershire Police to residents within the local area and neighbouring villages to where you are resident.

It is FREE to register and receive messages as well as being a confidential and secure service

Rural Watch

Rural Watch is a free scheme set up to support communities in the fight against rural crime.

If you live, work or visit rural communities you are the eyes and ears. Together with the Police you can actively take steps to prevent crime, report suspicious incidents and provide education and reassurance on the issues that matter the most to rural communities.
